Sign In question

Ok, here's a dumb question. I check into the board off and on during the day from work. I have to sneak on, so I just read through to see what I'm missing without signing in. Then every once in awhile I see something I have to comment on, ask about, etc. and I go back and sign in. How the heck can I get back to the board without going all the way to the beginning! What am I missing here? It seems there has to be a way without going through all that, but since the new format arrived I'm stuck with the long way. HELP!

Thanks guys.

Re: Sign In question

Yeah me too at home, but I can't do either from the office. It's closely monitored. Am I missing a link or do you really have to go all the way out and back in?

Re: Sign In question

can you stay logged in at work? Shouldnt matter unless somebody else at work uses the same computer and comes to the BBS

Re: Sign In question

No, like I said, I can't stay logged in at work. Our MIS staff accesses our computers throughout the day. Anytime I go on the net I immediately have to go clear history, delete temporary files, and delete cookies. I know about favorites, bookmarking, etc. but none of that applies, all I really need to know is if this particular bulletin board has a way to go from the BBS, to the log-in screen, and then immediately back to the bbs. Or do you have to go to the main and all the way back in again. I can't use anything on the work computers to do it, I just need to know if there is a link on the screen to do that, and I'm missing it. Thanks!

Re: Sign In question

I work for the military and they watch us VERY close on the Net and told us that what ever we see, they see! With that said, I'm here and they never say anything to me! I'm always on something about 4X4's and Motorcycles and the only thing I can't do is put ICQ, chat or PORN on these puters! I've also got a log on here so what ever I look at stays with my log on, and not someone else's! You can't really go around it if you can't bookmark the page. Looks like you just have to go the long way.

Re: Sign In question

I think the easiest way to do it is... Sign in and then use the back button to get back to the board, then hit the refresh button and you will be signed in. I will tell you though, being signed into this board does not put a cookie on your pc. When you are signed in you are assigned a specific address and that is how they know who you are, if you just bookmark that address or copy and paste it to a text file your could use it all the time without anyone knowing. Just a thought!

Re: Sign In question

HEY! The back then refresh worked! THANKS!! That's what I needed! I work for a government office as well, and they just fired 26 people for internet use. I have to close it out and just go in on breaks and lunch. But now with "back/refresh" it looks good! In the past I was trying the back, but it didn't remember I signed in. Now we're cookin'! Thanks once again guys!!
