best samurai???

I'm looking to buy a samurai in the near future, and am woundering which year to buy. Is the EFI Samurai better than the carbed version? I see a lot of people have the '88.5 samurai, is there a reason for this? Any help and opinions would be apreciated.

Re: best samurai???

There are few differences between the early and late Samurais, but I would pay more for an EFI Sami than for a carb'd one in equal condition. The EFI is nice for the trail. The later model-year Samurais are much harder to find though, as their numbers plummetted as a result of Consumer Retorts' rollover article.

Re: best samurai???

There were a lot of the '88.5 models sold in the US. As for best, that's strictly open to opinion. I like the looks of the '88.5-'91 type and the EFI of the '90-'95. I like the availability of a back seat, which was discontinued after '92. I've heard of far more igniter/ECU problems with the '90 models than any other EFI model, so I guess that would narrow it down to the '91. Darn, I don't even have one of those yet either.
