Doestch Tech shock question

Need new shocks bad. Going with DT's.

Question. Depending on which vendor you ask, it's either the DT3000 or DT8000 as the best bet.

I ask you guys, particularily the one's who have ridden on both, which is the best (softest) shock for slow rock crawling?

TIA,

Re: Doestch Tech shock question

I'm happy with my D-tech 3000's. I wouldn't want a stiffer shock. I actally just ordered a replacement for the one I
dented in last year when I went SPOA, From NCO. 30" ones.
I know Zooky has them too. The adjustable Ranco's seem
nice but oy vey the cost! Too rich for my blood. (besides I gots to get new tires soon)

Re: Doestch Tech shock question

The 3000s are what I have. Awesome ride on the street & over RxR tracks for a spoa etc... I love them. A friend has the 8000s. A lot of toy PUps run the 8000 so that makes me think the 3000 is better suited to the lighter sami. BUT- The 3000 do not have the built in bump stops like the 8000s. I personally wished I had 3000s with built in bumpstops. Seriously- any doosh has got to be good. My sami rides better now than it has in 10 years. Contributing factors include: spoa, rear OMEs, sami rears up front, doetsh 3000s and finally eclipse bucket seats.

Re: Doestch Tech shock question

I just picked up some 3000's, very soft, but perfect for a sammy, especially softops. They are built tough like ranchos too. Like misatori said the 8000 does offer the built in stop but they are stiffer. I have those eclipse seats too and they are VERY woth it.

Re: Doestch Tech shock question

I plan on running the 8000 series with my Wrangler springs, just because the springs are very soft.

Re: Doestch Tech shock question

Thanks guys, I'm going with the 3000's.

Next question, who has the best price? NTW? Anyone got free shipping on a set of 4?

Re: Doestch Tech shock question

These days I worry more about who will ship without
delaying forever. I got my replacment form Northcoast offroad. You might try some of the truck massmarketers
for the cheapest price... You Scotch cheepie you.

Re: Doestch Tech shock question

I think you're right about that. I'll give this to Tim. Beside's having a really cool first name, he's a helluva descent guy.
