1300 or 1600 head

I know that I can use the stock manifolds but can I bolt up the 1300 head to the 1600 motor or is it best to just use the 1600 head? If I can use the 1300 head would I lose much power? Thanks, Lance

Re: 1300 or 1600 head

i beleive that you would gain power due to the higher compression.you will have slightly less displacement.and you will run a little hotter.(high comp. does that)
many sudgest porting and bigger valves to make the head breath better.but it doesn't have to be done. its your call,
cause its your baby. :-)zukikid

Re: 1300 or 1600 head

The combustion chamber on boht heads is identical. Power gain is minimal and only due to VERY slightly larger valves on the 1.6 head.

You can bolt a 1.3 head to a 1.6 block. You would want to block the fuel pump opening unless you plan on running off the machanical pump.
