OT NASCAR\'s Greatest Loss

I can not believe what happened during today's race. Dale Earnhardt will be missed by many. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Re: OT NASCAR\'s Greatest Loss

I agree...a very sad loss. I am honestly a FORD fan all the way, but I am so sorry to see any of the great competitors lose their lives while trying to go a bit faster-tragic!

On AOL, they set up a board for condolences. I was so amazed at how unpleasant some of the posts were...I hope that AOL edits off all of the childish things being posted there. It's not enough that his family has to endure this loss, but to see that kind of crap reminds me that all humans are NOT good and kind. Too bad, they will face a tradgedy like this one day too.

Our condolences to the Earnhart family.

I myself am also a FORD fan, but it hit me like a ton of bricks when i heard dale was gone. He truly was one of the greatest hardcore drivers of all time. He will be missed by all.

My prayers are with his family and friends.

Re: OT NASCAR\'s Greatest Loss

I beleive this is one of the greatest losses in motorsport history. He was my favorite driver in NASCAR, and I will miss watching him race.

Re: OT NASCAR\'s Greatest Loss

Boy what a true tragedy. I never would have thought he was gonna die on that kind of impact. So sad, and my brother who saw the race is depressed like you wouldnt believe. He saw it like some of you on tv, i just got back from work and saw it on nascar.com. Friggen sucks, I hate it when the world losses someone good and you just are helpless to do anything......What are you gonna do? Well after watching the replay a few times, that is a bad way to hit the wall. Can you believe it, he was going into turn four and it would have been all over with. Really casts a shadow on his teams, and sons victorys.......

Re: OT NASCAR\'s Greatest Loss

Kind of weird that in a couple of seconds the race would have been over. Reality really sinks in after seeing something like that. At any given moment, one of us could be checking out too.

Tragic indeed. My wife and I are stunned. Hard to imagine a race with out Dale. Our prayers go out to Teresa and her family.
