Tach

Anybody have an '88.5 or newer type instrument cluster with a tach they'd trade for an early type '88 JX cluster with a tach? All the gauges and lights work. I'd be willing to pay reasonable shipping charges both ways.

Re: Tach

Damn, I wish my 88.5 had a tach. stock in the dash! I had to get one from the auto store! I think the 90's Zuks had a Tach. Have ya been to the junk yard yet, you might be able to find one there! Happy hunting!

Re: Tach

I just installed a mini tach (in-dash) from JCWhitney in my '88.5. The blank spot just to the left of the storage box (top, center) is space for a clock, I think, but I cut out a hole for the tach and used the wiring plug that was sitting behind it for the tach. Looks great. Someday I gotta get me a digital camera to get some pics of this stuff! Install was lots easier than I thought it would be. Only had to run one wire to the coil. Good luck.

Re: Tach

Bucwheat, the instrument clusters of 86-88 with the round vents and the 88.5 and up with the square vents are not interchangeable. It seems there were a lot more of the early JX Zuks with tachs than the newer types.

I might be willing to trade an early type JX cluster for a late model ('92-'95) without a tach since I am needing one that has a 4WD indicator light and I'm not having much luck finding one with a tach.
