is there a fix for leaky distbuter

is there a fix to keep that distbuter from leaking or do i just need to aply silcon also?

Doug, there is an o-ring between the distributor housing and the engine block that hardens after time and it will leak a LOT of oil onto the back of the motor and transmission. Th 0-ring only cost about $1.50, but the Suzuki ones are the only ones I've been able to find that will fit. Petroworks and Hawk both sell them and the dealer can get them. I've never seen one that didn't leak oil there before replacing that o-ring.

we do alot of muddin on the trails so we spray the in side with wire dry and they silicone the out side and put vaseline in the plug ends. Gary (nimph)
