Sidekick Underheating.

Ever since I got my 91 Sidekick JX, i've had the same problem.

It takes forever the engine to warm up. Once it does warm up, the gauge doesn't go above 1/3.

I've replaced the thermostat with the highest rated one available

Its almost as if I have an overactive cooling system. Anyone else have similar problems? Any possible solutions?

Re: Sidekick Underheating.

shot in the dark...check to see if you fan moves at all when shut off.it may have rusted up and the fan cluch will not release ...therefore it runs full time with out slip.therefore cooling full time(which it isn't supposed to do :-) . hope this helps.

Re: Sidekick Underheating.

I thought the fan was SUPPOSED to be on all the time!

If it is the fan clutch, how would I fix it? (I could just look in my Chilton's)...
