Remember you speedometer is off because of the 30" tires,so you odometer reading is off.You have actually traveled farther than it will read.

Re: what is correct gas milage for samurai

I believe izook.com has a tire size calculator on it that will allow you to correct speedometer error. If memory serves me, with 30" tire, your speedo will be off 12% and so will your odometer I presume. So you need to add 12% to your fuel milage for the correct figure. The easiest may is to multiply your current mpg by 1.12 and you will get your corrected mileage. However, 30" tires all very in actual diameter. Most are around 29.5".

Re: what is correct gas milage for samurai

I was getting about 150 miles to a tank. Now I'm down to around 125 miles and it's time to fill up.

Do you think the 31's and 145,000 miles on the engine has anything to do with it? :^)

Re: what is correct gas milage for samurai

ZuksRule is right with the hubs unlocked. We bought our '87 new and the dealer said about 25 avg then with the hubs locked you'd lose a few maybe 20-21 and then in 4wheel it would end up about 15-18. Jim
