29x8.50\'s

Ive finally decided i want to run 29x8.50 swampers on my sami. I plan on S/R to get the lift. Can i run them on stock rims or do i need to get some custom backspaced rims.

Thanks
Will

At only 8.5" wide you will be just fine on the stockers, I had run a 9.5" with no rubbing problems at all, Lance

On my 92' Zuk I am running a 7.00 - 15 bias ply mudder. They measure 29" tall, only had to trim the bottom of the tab that the front bumper bolts to and the flange on the inside of the fenderwell's. Have had no rubbing

Re: 29x8.50\'s

i;m running 29x10.50 swamper sx's on stock rims & all seems to be fine. have 3"national spua lift and have experienced no rubbing. my 10.50's may be a little too wide for the 5.5 rims but seem to be wearing well and ride smoothly!

Hey cueball, you got a pic of your rig....I'd like to see your setup.....and any one else for that matter...I like the idea of rigs with smaller tires .... you don't always need big to play with the big boys.....

Re: 29x8.50\'s

rdohn2, i'm not technologically advanced enough to send a pic online yet! i will say that a couple of years ago i lost faith & built a jeep cj7-had 35"bfg mt's, swapped in a 360 amc, dana 44's bothends with detroit lockers & 4.56 r&p's-did great at tellico and in my home state of florida-but my sami has about the same clearances, comparable articulation, will go most anywhere the cj7 would except deep water crossings-and doesn't get 10 mpg-plus is a lot easier to work on!! also drives nice on the hwy
