Going Crazy

This carburator is driving me crazy. How many
turns do you turn the idle screw? How do you get
the choke back together? The exploded view of the
carbuator I have does not show the choke parts and the book tells me nothing for a carburator just
fuel injection. An help will be appreciated. If
this is what I have to look forward in repairs for this suzuki I may go back to american made vehicles.

Re: Going Crazy

I've found that the Hayne manual is quite incomplete and is a good reference for the guy who alreadyknows what he's doing. What you need is a good factory shop manual. Search around, you can probably find one for around $50. Good luck.
sorry I can't give you an answer . . . getting ready to rebuild my weber carb soon, I may have answers later. . . or more questions.

Re: Going Crazy

The Haynes manuals are garbage. Im buying a FSM for 40 bucks soon.
Whats wrong with your carb? usually just back the idle screw off all the way and make sure there is some slack in the cable, then turn it in till your happy with the rpms. If it stalls at low rpm's like 1000 and under your carb might be dirty, i can run my zuk under 400 rpms :-)

Re: Going Crazy

Thanks, -Carb is running good, idles at about 1300 rpms. But it's real dirty and loose. So I figure, if I'm going to work on it to clean it and tighten everything up, I may as well do it right. Besides, it's another excuse to tinker on the Zuke! Been getting the itch lately. I think it's Spring Feveror something like that. Just put a diamond-tread tailgate panel on, new front brake pads, and have a Petroworks skid plate coming. Lots to do!!!
