Toyota motor in a sami

Ive got a 96 tacoma with the 16 valve 4cyl. Anyways, the tacoma has loads of power. I was wondering if anybody has dropped one in a sami. It looks to me to be a good conversion.

Re: Toyota motor in a sami

hey will, do the measurements. being a 96, i know it must have fuel injection. keep it by all means. about next weekend. i called jims off road, they said as of last thursday, it wasnt offically open yet, dont know about next weekend. so if it is still closed, moonrunner n me are gonna go wheelin up here where i am. puked both diffs yesterday, so may be 2 wheelin it next weekend. blew a rear pinion bearing, in the front, who knows?? axle, r&p just dont know until i get it home. goin to put in a 4:62 rear third tomorrow. anybody got a front 4:62 third from a slipomatic tracker/kick? i am in desperate need on one now.

Re: Toyota motor in a sami

Billy Bob,

My sami is pretty well chafed. I blew the reat transmission mount. Tore the whole exhaust system loose (i dont think i cracked the exhaust manifold tho). And the rear pinion finally gave. And considering every last cent of my last paycheck went into that damn yota i dont see me havin it ready for at least another month. Well, maybe a month and a half. I still have to buy my buddy a rear bumper for his ranger. You want to try to do the new trail say the beginning of march.

Let me know
