more dunes-pics

Hi,

i have been to the dunes again...

how did the sami do? ... just one word..... UNBELIEVABLE ... i outwheeled everything (TLCs, V8Rams, 4.0 Cherokee, TJ, etc...)

boy do I love my setup... it seems that the other trucks (esp the TLCs) do not rev very freely... I just sneek up to the dunes in 4th gear, 15 ft. before the incline i hit the pedal... and on top i have to hit the brakes...

boy that is fun!

just thought i'd share a war-story ;o)

Alfred

ps: is it just me, or does my sami look at tall as a TLC ;o))))

Excellent pics Alfred. Thank you for sharing them. Even if they did remind me how cold it is outside

Re: more dunes-pics

the LWB is fairly "jeep" down here... its about us$ 7.000,- new... and even has a tach! i guess its japan

the 1,9 TD version of the swb sami I is pretty stiff with us$ 12.000,- its made in spain by santana (ak for ripping off land rovers)

does by any chance anywone know if the lwb version does come with the same transfer ast the sami I (gear driven)?

Re: more dunes-pics

I wonder if one might have a friend overseas send a new Sami to the states as a personal purchase ala returning military personel?

Re: more dunes-pics

Importing a new Sami would be like importing one of the "grey market" Porsches, etc. At the port of entry, the cars are checked to see if they meet the U.S. safety requirements (bumpers, etc.). Typical government BS! On the exotics, there are companies that specialize in converting to U.S. specs. However, it's very expensive. Probably would cost more than the new Sami. Too bad, I'd like to have one of those LWB bad boys. Especially, one of the raised top LWB versions that has been on some websites. On my two trips to Australia, I've lusted after several of those.
