Loose steering on zuk.

On my 87 Samurai, the steering is pretty loose. I have a hybrid SPOA with 2" shackles and a home made Z bar.
There is about 4" of play in the steering wheel! all the ball joints are tight. Once the castle nut on the Z bar (the one wich goes to the pitman arm) was threaded out more than half way, and it was being drivin on the highway! Dam lucky nothing happened :-)

Re: Loose steering on zuk.

Anton you can adjust the steering gear lash by backing off the jamb nut on the steering box and turn the center screw clockwise until you feel a little resistence and then from there back it off about a quarter turn. that should help, i'll explain more at the meeting. See you later little buddy!
