Hey, do any of you use the GM 100A. I made a bet with a guy who told me if i could make it work (out of a 85 Camaro) he would give me the alternator plus $50. Does this work? i thought i had heard of it before, havent said yes yet though. reply ASAP. thx

Re: GM 100A

Yup ill pay shipping AND ill paint it to a color of your choce! :-) Goot, just because a suzuki alt is in a samurai doesnt make it a "truck alt" because the same ones can be found in suzuki swifts. and these GM alts rock, ive had a ton of trouble with my stock alt, and i know people who never had trouble with a GM alt. (i cant say i never had trouble because i havent had it that long and ive never been out of the driveway with the truck with it)

Re: GM 100A

http://www.izook.com/tech/100ampalt.htm Here is the skinny on the conversion and bracket.
I have found that if you drop the end of the bracket (This from the part of the old mount,) down about 3/4"
the stock belt will fit. As in have it drop 3/4" when mounted on the engine. (I really need a picture.)
they work great cheap, and use my whinch all the time with no problems.
