O2 sensor?

my sami is and 87 and i dont have the repair manual yet, i was just wondering why it has an O2 sensor even though it is carburated. What does the computer use the reading for to change?

just bought 87 silver sami, put on 30x9.50's no lift so far :-)

Re: O2 sensor?

The stock carburetor's fuel mixture is controlled by the computer. The ECM is mounted up behind the glove box. If you'll notice there are several electrical connectors on the intake manifold side of the motor for the various sensors.
