Where can I get a whip antenna?

Hi guys...

I did an informal search for 'dune buggy' on the net...but didn't really find any shops with whip-style antennas (I found one, but there was really no description or picture...so I was reluctant to part with $35 when I couldn't even see the product!).

Anybody got a good suggestion on where I can order one? I'm thinking of a yellow one as my truck is gray with yellow accents.

Thanks

Michael O

Re: Where can I get a whip antenna?

Sorry guys...I asked maybe for the wrong thing. WHat I meant was an antenna like you see on dune buggies...the tall one with a flag on it. I think/thought they make wire antennas who's only purpose is holding an antenna up high so you can see it.

Thank you for responding so quick!

you dont want one of those when wheeling, it will whip around like crazy and might hit someone, those Jeep guys get real close sometimes

If you are looking for a antenna for your CB radio look > http://www.exportradios.com/
If you just want one of the fiberglass sticks for a flag , look in one of your local bike shops.

Re: Where can I get a whip antenna?

Since it appears I need to...

To further clarify, what I am thinking of is that very fiberglass whip you guys are talking about. The great thing about them, however, is that when you are wheelin on the trail, they can be removed or bent over and attached.

I wouldn't think of flying a giant flag while deep in wheeling...but most off road parks have big areas of mud / water to play in, and I can tell you at Paragon I nearly hit somebody a couple of times (and them me) because it was hard to see for all the terrain. It was so deep, however, that you had to hit it with momentum or would risk sitting in it for a long time. Get it?

Thanks for all the ideas. I have some places to start, anyway!

Take care all.

Very true, our club has a size limit on whips as well. Even with the top secured, they've been known to break and start flying about.
