the weirdest thing...

picture this....

down here in chile, we got the Sami I until 95.

From 96-2000 we got the Sami II (the coil-sprung)...

... and now in 2001 .... and heres the HAMMER!!!

we got the sami I back again.... but... (fasten up) with a 1,9 TurboDiesel w/ 90 or so hp and about a billion of torque...

its incredible... the old leaf-monster, with beefed up suspension, tank-skidplate and other goodies...

i guess this must be the most capable 4x4 truck that ever fell from a production-line !!!

still cant believe it....

the down side is they want US$12,500,- for it (the sami II was 7,300,-)

wow...

I still dont have breath...

You Bastard! How dare you taunt us with your automobile buying options! IT IS NOT FAIR!!! I hate US vehicle regulations! Next you are going to tell me you can still buy a brand new aircooled VW Beetle too! Thank you for ruining my whole day!

Re: the weirdest thing...

thanks alfred......I like the gearshifter navigator thing-a-ma-jig.

I also like the two tone color of that black and grey samurai.

I also like the newer style dashboard with the white guages.

I really like the split folding back seat.

Say, where can I get one of those Vitara Hoods with a scoop. I'll put it on my sidekick/tracker.

Re: the weirdest thing...

Damn, I'm going to request the military fly me down there for some kinda training and then buy 2 new Samurai's and fly them back on a C-5 (its a BIG ass jet) I'm just going to have to tell my commander that in the morning! I'll have to answer to my wife when I come home with 2 new Zuk's in the driveway! That would put me in the dog house for a year! I think it would be worth it! Some people just don't know how well they have it!

Hey, can you buy parts and send them to the US, you can make some $$$$$ Just a thought!

Re: the weirdest thing...

hm... brian...

i must be doing something wrong here... because i am buying parts from the US!!!

But seriously... i would die to own one of those puppies... but there's the money-factor...

Just bought my sami last yr for $3.000.000,- (chilean pesos), roughly 5.000,-US .. so there would be no way to justify 7mio$ for a new one...

Besides, you can get a Hyundai Galloper TD for 9mio here (looooaded)... so i figure they wont sell an awful lot of them...

later,
alfred
