Re: ALUMINUM FILLED DIFF-LOCKER

sorry i havent' got back to you guys. been busy with planning a wedding a christmas and everything else. i am still looking to do this. i need to talk with the machinist to see if he will do this for only 2 or 3 differentials. the thing is it doesn't really matter if there are 2 or 10 it is about the same amount of work. so ill see what he says. if there was a few more interested i know he would.
as far as aluminum being strong enough: the entire differetial is poured with aluminum with the spider gears and everything inside. the aluminum fills in the voids and makes for a very strong locker. i have been running mine hard for a year or so. haven't had any problems.

i will let you know what i find out with my friend. and maybe some more people will show some interest.

Re: ALUMINUM FILLED DIFF-LOCKER

I've heard of guys using lead in their diffs before to lock up the spiders.... but aluminum? Lead at least has a somewhat (though almost non-existant) viscous nature, I can't see how the aluminum would hold up without flaking and cracking to bits.

Sounds creative though. Gotta love creativity!
