Cheap Shocks for 1.5\" SpUA

I just purchased an 87 Hardtop Samurai and I think that the shocks are shot - rusted really bad and the truck rides really "springy". Anyone have a model number (and price) of a cheap shock that will work well with 1.5" lift springs (already on the truck)......this will be a non-trail rig for my fiance so I am looking for a nice, smooth riding shock.

Thanks,

pug

Go to NAPA and buy some cheap gas shocks. They have a replacement shock listed for up to 2" of lift. Hope this helps.

You can get 2" longer shocks from Autozone. They are the Red Ryder brand, 81440 for front, 81538 for rear and cost about $9 each. NAPA sells longer brake lines, 38541 for front, 38688 for the rear. If they can not get lines as soon as you like ,you can marry two sets together using NAPA brake line nipple 3325. (By the way you can thank Ranger Rick for the part numbers, that's where I got them from) I use the Red Ryder shocks all around and they work pretty good. The fronts are a little softer then I was use to but after a couple days driving I got use to them. I will replacing the front Red Ryders sometime soon for a set of Doetsch Techs. Make sure your shock mounts are far enough to use these shocks. I could not use them at first since I went the SPOA route until I moved my lower shock mounts.

If you don't have an Autozone near you can can go here and use their locator for the closest store near you. http://www.autozone.com/
