Driveshaft yoke repair ??

I have 2 driveshafts that need to have the yokes "repaired". It seems that the "plug" on the inside on both has parted company with the yoke, exposing the splines. Is there a fix that I can do or should I bring it to a drive shaft shop? Thanks......

Re: Driveshaft yoke repair ??

I've seen 2 different types of plugs. One is a pressed in plastic plug and the other is a flat plate tack welded in place. I think that you could replace any of these yourself, just be sure to drill a small hole in the middle of the plug to allow pressure to escape so as not to blow out the plug again.
