33\'s on stock rims?

has anyone tried putting a 33x12.50 on a stock samurai rim? How does it look? How wide are stock kick rims?

Re: 33\'s on stock rims?

hey there dude, i dont know if i would do it or not. a 1250 is for a wider rim. dont know specifics. i got a 33/950 on a stock sammy rim, but it hangs on the tailgate for a spare, dont know how bad/if it rubs at all. never been on the truck. mee's tinks it would be too narrow and ride in the middle of the tire unless you run very very low pressure. just opinions.

Lewis, i know some ppl who run 31x10.5 on stock rims, looks fine, doesnt bubble out much, even wear. Im just wondering how much worse a 33x12.5 would be.,

Re: 33\'s on stock rims?

I run my 33x12.5's on 8" rims, and am going to 7" rims for wheeling. Never peeled a bead or anything, just like the looks of them better. I wouldn't on a stock rim, mxnhid has a set of 32x11.5's mounted on stock rims and they look like they'd peel a bead in a minute. I wouldn't recommend it.

Minimum wheel width for a 33x12.5-15 is 8". That is by the book and I don't think anyone would mount a tire on anything smaller than 8". You might be able to get away with a 7" rim with no problems. I mount my own tires but even I think you are taking a big chance of a blow-out running that narrow of a rim.
