How much lift

How much lift will i need to run 31x9.50s. I want to clear them at full "stuff" but i dont want it to look like the samurai used in the ad for the calmini 5" combo lift. I think that samurai looks way out of proportion. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Will

Re: How much lift

Alot depends on your front bumper. I used to run 3" Nationals with 1" shackles and 31's. I thought I had plenty of clearance until our last outing. I bent my stock bumper pretty bad. I had trimmed it alot and even cut the tubes off of the frame that hold the stock bumper on. I bolted the stock bumper to my brushgaurd. Like I said, I thought I had plenty of clearance. IMO you can't have too much clearance. FWIW I think the Calmini Zuk looks pretty good. Also your backspacing on your rims will be critical.

Re: How much lift

Im either goin to buy or build a new bumper. I was thinking about the calmini 3" kit with 1" shackles. Maybe the bds 4" kit. Im also gonna try using the stock wheels for the time being.

Re: How much lift

You're probably going to get some tire rub on the front springs with stock wheels. I would definitely cut off those stock bumper mounting tubes.
