Misunderstanding !!!

Need an opinion on this

I have long been a great fan of Glenn and it's products so I ordered a 4.16 gear kit. A friend of mine as got a new Stock Samurai 1.9TD which is all the same as the sj413 but with a diesel engine and diferent dash. He loved the gears and wanted them to. So I offered do buy it for him as he is not familarized with the internet and dosen't speak english.

He wanted 4.16 gear + Lockrite locker + 1" body lift+ Safari Snorkell

I asked Glenn for a quotation.

he asked 1267$=399$ (gear kit 4,16)+125$for core+ 99$ (body
lift)+199$(locker)+305$(snorkel)+140$ (shipping cost (he said everything would fit in the safari snorkell box)

which was alright and i made the transference on June.

I only received the Goods on the beginning of November (my friend almost killed me he tought he would never see the money again)

Glenn forgot about the Safari snorkell and sent me the deluxe 4.16 kit

And I paid 1070.45=490(deluxe kit 4.16) +125+199+99+157.45 (transport cost)

Now he says there is a credit of 196.55=1267-1070.45 and that i sould be the one to pay for the rest of the money if I want the safari snorkell

Do you find this correct ???
Should I be the one paying for Glenn forgeting ???

.................................................. .............................
On your receipt there is a list of all the charges and your remaining
credit.

We will give you credit back for the gear parts you don't want and will pay
for shipping for those parts as well if you do not want them. That still
will not cover the snorkel though.

I do not know what our original discussion was, but there is not enough
money in the account to cover the snorkel at this time. Just tell us if you
want the extra money refunded, of if you want to return the gear parts with
extra funds and maybe have them apply to the snorkel.

Dear Glenn

I don't get it how wasn't it enough money in the begining when you said and
confirmed me to send you 1267$

I sent you 1267$=399$ (gear kit 4,16)+125$for core+ 99$ (body
lift)+199$(locker)+305$(snorkel)+140$ (shipping cost)

(tell me were is the money missing on this sum ????)

You said then that all the parts would come on the snorkel box (because it
was
big) and that it would cost 140$, I just received a small box with
everything
execpt the snorkel and it costed over 150$. How is it now that it only cost
85$ to send the snorkel ???

We are offering to refund the money still on file, refund the money for the

keep in mind it looks as though not enough money was sent to begin with to
pay for the snorkel.

and have a third opinion

You have a credit on file with us for $196.55.
Returning the extra parts for the deluxe 4.16 gear kit is $91.
This is a total of $287.55.

The snorkel costs $305
Shipping for it will be about $85
total cost of $390.

This is a difference of $102.45

I do not know where the error occured, but it does not look like enough
money was sent initially to cover all the parts on order plus the snorkel.
If you wish to send back the parts for the deluxe 4.16 gear kit, we will
give you a full refund for the $287.55 with an international money order. We
would not be able to cover over $100 in free parts though since not enough
money was sent initially to cover everything on order, even if only the
budget gears had been sent. I do not know where the error occured, but we
will certainly provide a refund for the extra monies if that is what you
would like. Or send the snorkel if you can cover the difference.

Dear

As I told you before we are not interested in sending you the gear core.
what
we can do is send you the other pieces and you assume the rest of the
expense/cost and send us the snorkell. This would be a good solution as the
mistake was not ours, we did what you told us to do and paid what you said
we
should pay.

I have by now bought you quite a few things and hope to buy many more...

We do sell the snorkels for the Samurai and have carried them for about 3
years now. You can see them pictured on our website. That I am aware of, we
are the only distributors for the Samurai snorkel outside of Australia.

You can still send back the other pieces besides the gears which would be
about $90. Also, the gear core is $125. Shipping cannot be as high as $215.
The package would only be about 8-9lbs.

Dear Glenn

We are not sending the gears back because he already has someone to buy it
from him besides transport cost would be high.

how come you have the Safari snorkel for the Samurai if ARB hasn't got it in
their catalogues ???

Rui Freitas

"Rocky Road Outfitters" <[email protected]> wrote:

You are probably planning on sending the gear core back for the $125. If you
would like, you can return all the extra pieces in the complete 4.16 gear
kit except for the 3 gears at the same time that you return the core gear.
Keeping only the gears is the same as the $399 budget kit. Once we got those
parts, then we could give you a credit for the gear core for $125, and the
extra pieces for the gear kit which is $91. The rest of the money could be
used on the snorkel.

It could be that not enough money was sent for shipping as well which would
account for some difference.

Dear Glenn

What about the snorkell ??what we gonna do now ??.This friend of mine paid
it
and is not willing to pay more for it. Is not interested in receiving
196..55
back if the snorkel hasn't come he want's me to give him 305$ back. This way
I
end up losing money just by being an intermediary and trying to help a
friend.
We shouldn't pay for your mistakes ain't I right ???

He already has someone that want's to stay with is gears...

Last year I offered to check on the price of brand new gears in Portugal
Suzuki dealer and buy them for you, you said you were not interested but
last
year the dollar was worth 205pte now it is worth 240pte. Besides the Suzuki
factory is in Spain which makes border with Portugal. It might be worth
checking. I could get you the sj410 and sj413 gears.

Waiting for your reply

What we can do in the future is put "warranty replacement" on the package.
This way, we can insure it for the full amount, but it should avoid or at
least minimize any customs taxes. Sorry about the miscommunications on the
order. Sorry also about the tax situation. Its too bad they have to exist at
all!

Dear Glenn

Just checked the receipt and found out what happened.

I sent you 1267$=399$ (gear kit 4,16)+125$for core+ 99$ (body
lift)+199$(locker)+305$(snorkel)+140$ (shipping cost)

You said 140$ would be the shipping cost for the snorkell and all the rest
would come in the same box.

What happened ????

As you forgot about the snorkell you also forgot about that what I wanted
was
the 4.16 399$ not the 490$ you charged me. As I told you then the suzuki is
a
stock brand new Suzuki Samurai 1.9 Turbo diesel with just a few months old
(it
is not needing bearings already).

You charged me 1070.45=490+125+199+99+157.45

Please note also that I paid 221$ on import taxes (over 1070.45) when I
sould
have paid 200$ (over 970.45=390+125+199+99+157.45). So on my next shippement
make it come 100$ less for me to pay less on import taxes.

Thanks

On your receipt there is an outline of how much you sent and what the parts
we shipped cost. That should answer your questions for the last order.

If you are wanting to do an SPOA for an SJ410, the only parts which we know
will work from the Samurai kit are the drop pitman arm, the spring pads,
brake lines, and the lower front and rear shock mounts. You would not need
the whole kit for the SJ410. You do still have credit on file with us which
can easily be applies to the SPOA system, or you can apply it to a snorkel
if that is what you would like.

Please let us know how we can help.

Dear Glenn

I know the information is on your web site, but I don't know which parts do
I
need. will the longer brake lines do in my sj410 ???

I have sent you the money needed for the parts I wanted... I will find the
e-mail you sent me with the prices and sent it to you.

I know how to convert esc to $ and vice-versa, besides i payed in dollars
the
total amount you indicated, I even confirmed the total value and account
number twice.

thanks

We do sell the snorkels. On your receipt is the amount you sent, the cost of
the parts you received, and I think you also had some credit balance
leftover. There was not nearly enough for a snorkel though.

You can see some information and costs of the SPOA kit on our website at
http://www.rocky-road.com/spoa.html

We also have a currency calculator there so you can easily see how much in
escudos.

Dear Glenn

How come you don't have the snorkel if it's on your site ????
The budget was made by you how is it I don't have enough credit ???

I send you money for locker+bodylift+ gear kit+safari snorkel+transport cost
It's not my fault you forgot about the snorkel.

Mail me the instructions for the gears

Please give me price cotation for I would need for doing a SPOA with stock
springs + transport.

I do not have a Safari Snorkel for you. The snorkel also cost $305 and I do
not think you have that much credit on file with us. There is an account
statement in your shipping label. We also put instructions for the gears in
your shipping label, it the intructions are not there, then they must have
been removed somewhere. Maybe by tax agents? I can try emailling you a copy
if you cannot find the instructions.

Dear Glenn

I just received the package, the gears are alright, the locker is alright
(altough I don't know if I will need the couplers).
The bodylift seems to be easy to mount but the instructions are very bad and
there should be at least a photo.
There were no instructions with the pack for mounting the gears.

There is the safari snorkel missing, how we gone do know ???
I have waited so long for the products, you even asked if I wanted the
products separatly, I said I would rather wait for everything and receive
everything in the safari box which would lower the transport cost like you
suggested when I ordered it.
