Price for Hard Top???

Hi all,
I found an '88 hardtop for just under $1000. It looks nice and is unmolested, it look like a good one to start with to do a buildup, I'm just wondering if that is a good price for one of these little trucks. Would I be better off to find one that is not running for a lesser amount, and start from there. Thanks for all responses.

Re: Price for Hard Top???

if it is unmolested[the way i like to get them]i would jump on it. but i have to admit it isn't as cool on the trail you just don't get the same feeling. i have two hard tops one has been kept for parts the other is my daily driver. and it is a much better daily driver when the weather is sorry. mine has air conditioning and a sony stereo, i picked it up for 800 bucks but it has been in a wreck, but it runs and drives good. it was hit in the butt, it took me about 2 hrs to get it to seal off right. it gets about 27 mpg, a lot better than my 88.5 soft top. and you wont belive it but i can hit 85 mph pretty easy on flat ground. and that makes it the fastest samurai that is stock that i have driven. later mike
