front upper shock mounts - Ford Ranger

I think i remember that the ford Ranger's (front upper?) shock mount can be used upfront... any specific year? Can someone fill me in with some details???

Still trying to fine-tune my spoa...

the p/n is e5t2-18183-a. everywhere i read people say that you have to cut off about 4" off the bottom so that they don't rub the tire. i haven't used them yet put i plan too when i do a conversion to dana 44's. go to this web site there is some info on it.
