Windshield Wipers

I need to install stainless steel braces on my windshield wiper arms. I've looked at the Haynes and Zuki owners manuals, neither shows how to remove windshield wiper arms. Any help and advice appreciated. looks like there may be a retainer nut under the black plastic piece below the arm under the nut. After you remove the top nut, how do you remove the blade arm? See photo attachment....

Re: Windshield Wipers

I believe it is just a friction fit. Even out the pressure from the spring and rock it off.

Re: Windshield Wipers

hi oldfartzuk, that looks like my subaru set up.it is a friction set up.the nut tightens down on a rubber piece and that holds wiper blade.give it a shot of penetrant, let it soak,it should pop off.RR

Re: Windshield Wipers

Good luck getting them off. When I painted my Zuk I tried to remove them and finally gave up. Maybe someone knows the secret.
