Welded on my spring perch..Shock Mount?

in the process of doing the SPOA thing...Welded on my perchs today and was wondering...i do that alot
Seriously....Axle looks good with the new spring perches on it. I was wondering about my shock mounts?
My other sammy which is spoa has the shocks mounted to the original shock mount and is fitted with short
shocks. It looks like to me that the short shocks will limit articulation. I am considering making some
shock mounts and welding or bolting them to the original spring perch that is still on the axle. I am wondering
if many of you have done this ? ? ? Also can anyone steer me to some pictures of add on shock mounts
attached to the lower old spring perch. A picture or pictures of this project would be nice. H E L P ? ? ?

hi markmartinbirdie,,i guess i am week ahead of you in the project.most auto stores carry shock studs.buy some angle iron and make your own mounts.you can put them anywhere you want .yes the short shocks do limit articulation.get shocks to long, then angle the top in toward the center.if you get in a bind let me know and i will make you a set.hope this helps ranger rick

NO PICTURES,but real easy.1.5x1.5x2long angle iron.drill hole for shock stud and weld.mount on axle any where to keep shock from hitting anything. i put mine on the lower axle, next to spring plate.i run auto zone shocks.my manual is loaned out.when i get it back i can post shock #s if needed.i did see those #s recently on this site.RR

Hey RR,

I think I am going to buy you a digital camera, nothing fancy, just a cheapy, but something you can use so we can see your ride. I think we would all like to see your homemade stuff and your setup.

I am usually up in the Ohio area quite a bit, so it's a possibility.
