Windshield frame removal

What is involved in removing the windshield frame? Has anyone replaced theirs? Does the dash have to come out? I'm getting ready to start the replacement of mine and the manual I have shows nothing in regard to this. Should I expect any problems? Thanks for the help.

Re: Windshield frame removal

Nope, this is easy as cake, provided you have an impact driver. The Phillips screws can be a bitch. If the replacement still has the brackets on it, then remove just the bottom screws on yours as this will require 2 screw removal as opposed to 6. Replace those friggin' dumb-ass screws with stainless metric bolts.

If you have trouble getting the screws out, call me and I'll tell you what I did.

While you are doing this, call Hawk Suzuki and order the $80 fold-down kit. Well worth it.

Re: Windshield frame removal

Thanks! That's the answer I was hoping for.
I should be able to get them out - after all, I used to have a Jeep with those stupid Torx bolts.
