Hi all I have a question about the timing belt on my sammy. Ok heres what happened to me in a nut shell. I just finished putting in the new Petro Works Clutch, And went out to test it. It works REALLY WELL... broke my drive line&u-joint where it connects to the rear 3rd member.
When that happened my motor revved really high guessing to high, any way I stripped the teeth off of the timing belt.
I have replaced the timing belt and retimed it. but now it makes a funny noise when its running. almost sounds like a vibrating sound, it gets louder when u rev the engine. you can hardly hear it when its idling. What did I do??? Possably bent valve?? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Re: HELP !!

Are you sure the noise is coming from the engine? Not the transmission or the Motormounts?

Re: HELP !!

quiteshur you didn't bend a valve,i've had my motor wound up to 8grand on several occasions with no problems. does the vibration go away if the motor is under aload? are you 100% shur it is timed axactley right on and not a tooth or two off? timing cover on correctly...not rubbing on a belt.
just questions

Re: HELP !!

If nothing is broken, it sounds like the timing is off to me.

Re: HELP !!

Thanks everyone for the replies. I went back thru everything, double checked the timing it was on. I even pulled the oil pan and everything looked ok there. So I put everthing back together, and it still made the funny noise.
I took it on a little drive and when I got back home the noise is gone.... I guess I'll just run it and see if it comes back. Thanks again everyone for your help.
