BACK SPRINGS AT FRONT

I have the chance of getting my hands on a set of back srpings and I am thinking of mounting them up front.
I have 2" longer shackles, should I remove them ??
How much lift will I get if I do this ???
Will I have to had a spacer to the transmission ???
Are there any disadvantages ??

Any comment would be a great help

Re: BACK SPRINGS AT FRONT

you will have to make the shackles about 4 to 6 in. over stock and double check your brake lines.and watch for the old bump stop mounts. i screwed up my shocks on the old bump stop mounts. you will proably want to add a pan hard bar[i haven't yet but i am going to]. you will need to add a drive shaft spacer of at least 1 in. that is all i can think of off the top of my head. later mike

Re: BACK SPRINGS AT FRONT

4" to 6" on shackles ?? won't that lift front of the car much higher than the back ??
Is it necessary to build up new bump stops ??
The axle moves forward so I will have to cut the frame extensions (that old the bumper ) right ???

Re: BACK SPRINGS AT FRONT

the new rear springs are longer than the old fronts.the stick out farther than the old ones. you will see what i am talking about when you bolt them on. the shackles have to be that long to get the spring to set right.later mike
