Getting ready to weld on perches HELP

I am getting ready to weld on my spring perches for my front axle SPOA I will be taking the axle to
a freind house and he will weld it for me. QUESTION ? I dont want to install the axle, springs and front
axle on my SLam and then mark everything (to much work) Can someone tell me how to line them up
so I can just take it over to my buddies house and say weld it. How about just squaring them up with
the old ones ? any help would be appreciatied

Re: Getting ready to weld on perches HELP

They should be perfectly parallel with the stock ones. Plan on having to do some griding and shaping on the passenger's side to fit around the differential.

Don't overheat the axle is you are welding directly to the axle housing. On the rear, overheating causes tube failure and they tear open. On the front, you weaken it so that it bends. We've seen quite a few bent front axles on the trail from poorly welded SPOAs onto the housing. Just be aware...
