Re: Whats This????

Did you check all ground wires?
From the batt, to the body, and there is one from the dist. too?
Don't just assume they are good, make sure they are.

I had a bad wire on one Zook, at the ignition, it was rubbing some piece of metal, shorted everything out.

Good luck (from now on)

Re: Whats This????

I also had the same thing happen to me and at the same time my clock kept loosing time (a couple hours a night). I had a couple of other wierd electrical things happen as well. So i changed the pick up and i put a heavy ground strap from one of the starter bolts to the fire wall and i haven't burned up any more pick up coils and my clock hasen't lost a sec in 2 years, also all the other little electrical problems went away instantly. Another thin you can do is put one more strap between the eng and the frame and you will not have to worry about that ground problem ever. I used 1.5 inch wide flat, multy banded, ground straps.
I hope this helps you solve your problem. Let me know how it works out.

Re: Whats This????

Strange thing is is that if I had an electrical problem, wouldnt it have burned out my original distributor?I changed it because it started getting a little sloppy around the stem but worked fine .But then I put another new distributor in and the problems started. And another, ran for about two weeks and went dead.Could there have been bad assemblies when remanufactured?
