Tranny a bitc* to get OUT!!!

Am I doing something wrong or what? I'm at the point where I have the tranny front end dropping and it hooks up on the pressure plate!!! What the heck am I doing wrong?
What the heck is the trick to this?
I'm waiting on line for an answer or it's going to get ugly!!

Re: Tranny a bitc* to get OUT!!!

Whoa DannyL, heres what you do if you have not already done it. Take the drive line out that goes to the front axle. there is a "G" spot as your under the rig moving it to your left in that vacated area that lets it slide right out. You should take off the tranny mounts too so you have a lot of play. Hope that helps, Ive had to do mine several times as well but youll figure it out. Good luck Max

Re: Tranny a bitc* to get OUT!!!

I went back in the garage with attitude and it came out in a few minutes.
I took the distibutor out though so the engine would sit back farther. looks like it's time for a new clutch. I have to say that really enjoy working on the Zuks cause they are just so simple and have real LIGHT parts!!! Sent info to your e-mail John.

Re: Tranny a bitc* to get OUT!!!

To make it easier for future removals and your reinstall on the tranny, you can take about 3/8"-1/2" off the forward edge of the tranny mount stub-out on the frame of the vehicle. Do this with a Sawzall or grinder. This way you can just push it straight up and in. We do this on all vehicles that come through here and it really makes things simple for the tranny.

Re: Tranny a bitc* to get OUT!!!

That's a very good idea Glenn. I will do that for sure since I will be installing the tranny alone and don't want to struggle with it more than I have to.

ThX you all for the input
