tracker r&p in a sami diff

I could have sworn i read somewhere that the r&p from a tracker will fit into a samuri axle. Is this true. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: tracker r&p in a sami diff

yes they will but just the front ring and pinion from a tracker/sidekick. the rear one wont work so you'll have to find two donor vehicles.

Re: tracker r&p in a sami diff

Ok, so if i get 2 front tracker r&p's then all i have to do is unbolt and rebolt. Since its a 3rd member setup there is no need to have to set the gears up, right?
Thanks in advance, will

Re: tracker r&p in a sami diff

this will work if you get the whole 3rd members but if you just get the r&p's you'll have to set up the gears to your chunk. i maybe wrong but i think the trackers had an aluminum 3rd member that is not as strong as the samurai 3rd member. if it is aluminum it will be worth your while to put the r&p's in your chunks. also remember that the stick shift trackers had 5.12 r&ps while the autos had 4.62 r&ps.
