HELP!

I need help try to figure out what is wrong with my truck.
I was hoping you guys with the samuris could help me. I,ve
seen some wicked stuff from you guys! The guys at the ford
bbs I swear are bunch of STUPID high school kids, enough
said my problem is my 1979 f-150 351m 2blcarb 6c auto died
on me while it was going about 40mph and now refuses to start
Any help would be helpful! Thanks & keep those weedwacker
wheelin hope to see mor on the trails!

How did it die, just dropped dead or sputtered to a stop? How does it sound when you crank it over? My guess would be the fuel pump.

Sounds like the igintion box went out. Should be a silver box under the hood. Go to your local parts store and pick up a new one, then just plug it in where the old one is. Ford's are bad about that.

check your fuses,i had that happen last week on my friends ford and after all the checking,it turned out to be a 15 amp ign.fuse.hope this helps,ranger rick

Does it have spark? - if not check the ign mod,coil,and cap
does it have gas? -pull the fuel line off the carb and touch the starter (be carefull which direction the fuel is going to spit out)if not then is't probally the fuel pump.

did it die silently or was there a munching sound. does it turn over when your turn your ignition key? if it does turn, what do you hear? timing chain/belt broken?
