Re: OLD MAN EMU LIFT KIT

I've got the OME springs/bushings on my daily driver Samurai. It gives about 2" in the front and 2.5" in the rear. It barely clears 30x9.5 tires on 15x7 rims in the front. The ride is a little better than stock but not a whole lot.

Re: OLD MAN EMU LIFT KIT

I got the full set (spring, bushing and shock) on my 84SJ410. It ride so so on the road since its a short wheelbase vehicle. Dont think it will ride like a pasenger car. Off road its a diffrent animal. I could take jump and fast dirt road comfortably while my friend that have 80 series LC have harder time since he keep bottoming out. It flex very well considering it sway a lot less than stock spring. It might not for hardcore rock crawler since most of them will want softer spring.
Overall I am pretty impressed with it. It realy transform my SJ. I would really recommed getting the whole kit although rock crawler would want to get longer shock.

If you use this spring and use different shock it will ride horrible as my friend find out when he use RS9000 on his.

Re: OLD MAN EMU LIFT KIT

I have OME springs, bushings, shocks and steering dampner along with RRO's ZLink. On-road ride is not much different from stock springs, until you hit a pot hole, sharp dip, or large bump. Then you really appreciate the difference. I have to go over 8 speed bumps to enter or leave our housing development. With the stock springs I had to almost stop (less than 5 mph) to negotiate each bump. With OME I just drive over them a 20-25 mph. No problem. Off-road I am driving over trails at 30-40 mph that I used to drive over at 10-15 mph. OME is expensive, but IMHO well worth it. Glenn at RRO recommended going with the OME shocks with the springs as it is a tuned system, I am glad that he did.
