How much for a new top????

Hello all - I'm a regular over at the toyota board and had a question for you folks.... A girl I work with just had her 88 Samuri broken into. The dirtballs sliced up her top pretty good. What's a reasonable price to pay for another one??? Probably used I would imagine.... Are they hard to find?? Is she better off buying one online or is it something that can be chased down at a local junkyard pretty easily???? We're in a pretty big city (Portland, OR)... lots of junkyards around.... thanks for any help.....

Bummer, New cost from 180-260.00 depending on which model/make. If your luck holds you might find a good one in a junkyard, A friend has before for 10 -15 dollers. Good luck. By the way if she goes for a new top kayline is best
then besttop. (Best top is a little cheaper,)

Re: How much for a new top????

did she have insurance? if her car was broken into, the insurance should cover it just like they would broken windows. a place i go to for tops and covers is marine shops.same material they use for boats.also check out trade schools, might get lucky and get one made for the price of material.good luck ranger rick

you might suggest to her that she just leave it unlocked, and not to leave any valuables in there. learned the same thing with my sidekick, the same way, years ago.
