Re: Motor Weekend(i hope)

Mudslide, im a shadetree mechanic that wouldnt havea clue on front or rear seals and crud, but I pulled out two toyota, and two sammi engines and stuck ONE IN a sammi in one day. Its really easy, and to sum it up THATS WHY I HAVE A SAMMY because im a simple guy. You and your friend should have no problem. One thing i did experience was clutch cable problems. I should have left the clutch spindle shifter body (thing a ma bob) on the clutch spindle. Instead I yanked the whole darn thing off and didnt have fun re adjusting it later. Just take the cable off and nothing more. Hope all goes well. Max

Re: Motor Weekend(i hope)

I guess it's OK rebuilt. I bought a rebuilt one from a carb company and it's worked pretty good. I would have gone with a pony but this all took place before I bought a computer, so I didn't know about them. I have a factory service manual if you need any info on the carb. I believe rebuilding the carb will be more challenging than changing the motor.

Re: Motor Weekend(i hope)

getting a pony is only 80$ plus 20 shipping. Send the rebuild kit back and get the Pony! Just saw one put in dbenj's rig and its pretty straight foward and much more power and you can work with the jets. my 2 cents. Max
