Grease auto hubs?

Do front auto hubs need to be serviced at regular intervals? If so how? I have a Chilton's repair manual that tells how to remove them, but it says nothing about service.

Re: Grease auto hubs?

It wouldn't hurt to remove them and clean out the old grease
and regrease them. I use wheel bearing grease on my hubs.
Might as well service the wheel bearings while your at it.

Re: Grease auto hubs?

The auto hubs on my '95 Trooper are supposed to be torn down and repacked every 30,000 miles. Otherwise they may not work, like one of them is doing now. It's a standard auto-Lock hub setup, so I'd definitely look into yours.
