Steering Joint

My steering joint fell apart and I don't have any of the pieces of the old one. Is this the sort of thing I can buy from a parts store or should I make one out of an old diesel mud flap?

Re: Steering Joint

This is the rag joint right? if so then yes you can get them just make sure to bring the old one (Or whats left)
with you to match it up. Or bring the piece it bolts to.

Re: Steering Joint

i made one from a piece of industrial fibered belt material
use one of the flanges it fits between for pattern-a truck
mudflap with fibers in the rubber would be about the same
hope this helps

Re: Steering Joint

Thanks all, I ended up going to the Checker (Schucks, Cragen, etc.) and got the Help brand "universal" steering coupler. It fit perfectly. The Ford/Domestic ones are too big though. I didn't have any of the old one left, so I had to guess.
