Axle swap

I am thinking of swapping in a different front and rear end and was wondering what others have done. I live for snow and want to slap a set of 36" gumbos on it. Don't think the stock samurai axles would cut it. Am considering FJ40 axles or and early model dana 44 from a jeep due to the stock 5.38's. Than a early model dana 30. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Axle swap

how about quadra track equiped 70's model wagoneer axles. they are both dana 44's and the rear is off set to match your zuk x-case. make sure the wagoneer is a narrow track version. these will still be wide on a samurai.

Re: Axle swap

Toyota axles will hold those tires great. I have 36" buckshots and a Chevy 350. stock toyota axles and stock 4.10 gearing. with the little amount of power that zuks put out (perfect for zuks) you will not have any problems breaking anything. Get 5.29 or 5.71 gears. I recommend 5.29. and have a blast.
