Dif. Tyres

It's been a year since I installed my 235 75 R15 Tires on my sj410 and they used to rub so I did 2" longer shackles and the problem was solved. now I just bought new tires (on the picture) with the same measure 235 75 r15 but to my suprise they rub.I measure them up and the old ones are 70 cm width and the new ones 74 cm.
I have a 4x4 ride in the 2 and 3 of September and i have ordered 1'' body lift from glenn but it won't get here (portugal) on time.

What could I do meanwhile ?
I could build a 3'' shackle but is it save ???

Re: Dif. Tyres

Usually,if you go with a different brand they're not gonna be exactly the same size. Are the tread patterns different?

Re: Dif. Tyres

where do they rub? only in the front? You could go with different rims, rim spacers, for a body lift it is said that you
can swap the bushings (Flip them from the bottom of the mount to the top) on the sj413 for 1" lift.
not sure if the sj410 can do the same. I wouldn't go with longer shackles myself as the on-road handling will
not be good.

Re: Dif. Tyres

They rub at the front when turning and the top when on full strees.
I have already ordered a body lift I just want a cheap solution for the off-road event and untill the body lift dosen't arrive.

... yes the tires are completly diferent only size is the same.

thanks

Swap the bushings ?

Swap the bushings ?? That sounds cheap and interesting does it works for all the bushings ??
If I had that to the lift kit I ordered will i stay with a 2" lift.
Is it save to have the body bolted without bottom bushings ???????

Thanks

Re: Swap the bushings ?

I have heard about it for the sami, What you are supposed to be able to do is just swap the bushings, top to bottom
bottom to the top. nets 1" of lift. Again I haven't done it, and don't know if the same holds true for the 410.
You could measure them and see.

Re: Swap the bushings ?

Rui,

you could have your spring-leaves re-curved. I am sure you can find a local shop "resortes, etc..." they should be able to do it fairly cheap and you will get some lift ... did it on mine and works fine

bye
