Toyota Pickup Diffs

Has anyone ever put toyots pickup truck diffs under a zuk?? How much wider are they than stock 83 Suzuki Sj410 ones? Is there any way to change the bolt pattern back to 5 bolt?? Does anyone know the diff gear ratio, and what to do for brakes and steering?

Re: Toyota Pickup Diffs

I just got done with my rear end swap but I used a fj55 axle that comes stock with 4:11 gears the the regular pickup axle has 4:11's also but every thing is basically the same.the fj55 axle has a single brake line so it bolted right into
my 88.5 which has one brake line also.the drive flange on the toyota axle needs to be turn 45 degree's and redrilled so the samurai drive shaft will bolt up.with my spoa and hybrid leaf springs the drive shaft doesn't need any spacers

hope this helps

Re: Toyota Pickup Diffs

yes, this helps some. Are these axles from a Toyota pickup truck with a cab and a bed or are you talking about the ones from a toyota land crusier? Also, how large size tyre can these handle easyley?

Re: Toyota Pickup Diffs

The toyota axles will handle any tire that you can put on a Zuk. I plan on doing this mod as soon as I get a Zuk. right now I have 36" Buckshots on my toyota axles with a Chevy 350 V8 power going through the 8" R&P. These things are tough. as far as width difference, I can go measure them for you if you can go measure you Zuk axles. I need to know how wide the Zuk axles are.

Re: Toyota Pickup Diffs

Ok thanks. Ill measure them from the 4 bolts flanges on each end of the rear housing. it is where the backing plate and stuff bolt on. OK, there 44" wide. And remember these are on a 83, narrow diffs. Thanks
