Has anyone actually bought a SPOA kit from E-Bay?

Looking at doing a SPOA on my buddies rig, but he wants to do this on the cheap.

Anyone bought the SPOA from that dude off of E-Bay?

What are your comments/opinions?

Tim,

No, but it sounds like the guy is just selling the spring perches. You could probably pick them up cheaper elsewhere.

DANGER!!!!!!!!!!!
I've seen his product first hand!!
All I have to say is don't be on the road or trail with me.
His SPOA "kit" includes 4 spring perches. thats it, no steering correction, no brake lines , no shock mounts.
On top of that, the perches lok like just flat plate steel bent into a "U" shape!
These will fold over with any amount of 4wheeling. confer pads are cheaper and MUCH better!>
Also the one I've seen from this guy, he welded the pads on himself (the seller) and let me tell you, this guy does not know how to weld!
My 2 cents

Thanks.

I knew better. Fuggin E-Bay.

Gonna go confer (keep it cheap), but I'm still trying to convince him to go with the RRO perches (IMHO the best), but I want him to get it uo and running sometime this year.

Tanks

You don't want to cut corners when it comes to messing with the suspension. You can teach any monkey to work with tools but that doesn't mean they can make quality stuff. I hate to offend the guy who's selling this stuff but he's POS. He needs to state that this is NOT (NOT, NOT, NOT, NOT!!!) a SPOA lift kit, only the perches and u-bolts. It's obvious he knows what he's doing becasue he claims to have lots of Samurai stuff! Like most sellers on eBay he's praying off of peoples greed and stupidity.

I used to buy on eBay but then it dawned on me that most of the stuff I was buying (90% of it) was pure overpriced crap.

Re: Has anyone actually bought a SPOA kit from E-Bay?

When I bought my SPOA for RRO, it came with the Confer spring perches,
not RRO perches like the catalog had stated. They worked just fine.
"Buyer Beware" is all I can say about buying stuff like that from Ebay.
The guy is probably just building some cheesy POS spring perches and selling them.
Just my 2 cent!

Re: Has anyone actually bought a SPOA kit from E-Bay?

Whoa there Wayne!!!

We sell two different styles of spring pads and are very clear on what people want to order before we ship.

If someone wants our deluxe wraparound perches, that's what they get. Our Deluxe SPOA kits come with our wrapround pads.

If someone wants to save some money and go with the ConFerr spring pads, then we ship those. Our "budget lift kits" come with ConFerr pads and it is very clearly stated on everything we print.

Please don't represent that you have bought a deluxe kit from us and instead received the wrong spring pads. If this had happened, I'm sure we would have heard back from you or whomever it was.

Re: Has anyone actually bought a SPOA kit from E-Bay?

Hello Glenn,

Do you have the RRO 5.5" perches in stock and ready to ship??

If not, how about the 4.5"? How about the Confers?

Please be strait up , as I'd like to finish this project for him before our New England event at the end of September.

Thanks,

Yankee Tim

p.s. can I buy individual flares from you to replace one that was munched by a Sammy-hating tree? Fiberglass is tough, but wood is tougher.

Re: Has anyone actually bought a SPOA kit from E-Bay?

Rocky Road,
My mistake, I was sure that I ordered the Deluxe SPOA kit from RRO, and I was
just glad to receive it when I got it, so I just went ahead and installed
the kit. I did not want to wait to exchange the different perches. It didn't make much difference in the performance of the SPOA. I am happy with the SPOA.
Again, my mistake.
