Questions about mileage

Hey all, got a couple questions. What kinda mileage are you guys getting in your Samurais? I've got an '86, and i do all my driving in city and freeways and I'm curious as to what i should be getting. I live in Southern Cal and rush hour traffic is pretty much stop and go, I'm averagin 27 mpg, does that sound about right?

Also, I'm assuming the max the '86 samurai can hold is 10 gallons right?

One last thing, the needle on my dash is messed up. It'll start at the bottom of the "E" and work its way UP to half way, then the needle will drop back down to "E", whats going [email protected]?

Thanks, Jezz

Re: Questions about mileage

27 is good, I was getting 25 after my engine rebuild (Still breaking in) before my speedo cable broke.
10 gal tank.
Gas gage - pull the tank down (Make sure you are close to empty) and pull the sender out of the tank.
there is a bi-metalic strip that the lever for the float should touch through its stroke. you need to bend it so it does,
and your problem should be fixed. Mine was the same way...

Good luck
