Missing Link

I have an 85 Suzuki Sierra (Sammy) long wheel base. Stock
at the moment except for a few minor mods. Its going to
have a lot of work done soon so i will ask questions as I
think of them
It runs 2" extended shackles with stock springs which I have played with and work better than starndard. I intend to change to Rocky Road 1" missing links shackles. Tyres will probably never get bigger than 30x9.5x15.
I will be using standard CJ and Sammy springs but will
play a little, I will probably not get much lift beyond
what a standard spring will provide.
With this config what size drive shaft spacers should I
start with?
I have longer shocks at the moment but do I have to fit
longer shock towers and shocks as soon as I fit the missing links?
What size brake lines should I change to?
Any other missing link info that anyone can think of would
be great

Re: Missing Link

Your best answers are most likely with e-mailing Rocky Road your questions, they are the ML specialists. I would say this though you should re locate your shock towers to use the articulation that you are giving your rig to the fullest advantage. Yes you need the drive line spacers and extended brake lines too. One thing I wasnt clear on was if your sammy was SOA or not, or if your were going that way. good luck, Max

Re: Missing Link

Thanks Max,
I will email Rocky Road and fire my questions at them. My Zook is running spring under axle at the momement. I did'nt plan on SPOA till I had a look at what Missing Link can do for me.

If you stay SPUA, we'd probably recommend a 1" spacer with the Mlinks. If you are SPOA, then a 1.25" spacer for your setup. We can discuss this more if you would like to call us sometime.

You don't HAVE TO get longer shocks. However, that you are putting Mlinks onto your vehicle suggests you are hunting for max articulation. Staying with your current shocks will limit your wheel travel. In order to best use the Missing Links to their fullest potential, you would want to modify your shock mounts to get the longest possible shocks on. We have a couple bolton shock mounts for this reason.

>What size brake lines should I change to?

The longest possible. We carry 7" longer rubber brake lines. All stainless lines (besides the fact that they are brittle and break) are too short. They only come up to about 3" longer than stock. Very much too short when you go to SPOA and/or extreme travel suspensions. Stay away form the stainless lines. Any company that sells them is doing their customers a disservice and only trying to maximize profits. Quality companies with serious 4wheelers like us, Trail Tough, and Higher Heights will only sell rubber. Get long rubber lines!

Our website has a load of info there and pics of the Missing Links are scattered throughout since we're the ones that pioneered the system.

Re: Missing Link

Many thanks RockyRoad for the info. Cause I live in Oz "the land down under" and with the state of the Oz$ against the
Greenback the more gear I can get here the less money I give to the postal service and customs and exise.

Rocky Road. Your site is ORSUM. You'll be hearing from me
Cheers
