Rim size - Bigbearzuk?

Asking for a friend -

Would a 30x9.50 be ok on a stock 5.5" rim?

I would hazard to guess it would be fine, but Bigbear seems to be the expert on this.

Re: Rim size - Bigbearzuk?

i am not sure if my answer is correct, but i run 235/75 on a 6" rim on my feroza and dont have any problems... can go down to 6psi w/o problems... the looks.... kinda skinny...

in the worst case the outer lugs are getting some air and the weight of the truck will mainly sit on the center portion of the tire...

hope this helps somewhat

Re: Rim size - Bigbearzuk?

30's will mount up on a 5.5" rim just fine with out any major problems. It will cause a little bit of "wrap" (higher in the center of the tread vs the outer edge, caused by the bead being squished in from the narrow rim). When you air down you you'll get your contact patch just fine for wheelin. And the bead will be less likely to popping at low psi.
Have fun, you'll be fine bro!
