Help

i want help with my sidekick gear....it only does 2 shifts not 3.....1st shift on 35mph and the 2nd on 60mph and the top speed is 74mph...whats the problem ?





and another question...is it ok if i drove my car into the water ? even if its deep ?

What year is it? early models only have a 3sp auto. 74mph is quite slow, have you done a compression check. When was it serviced last? If you have large tyres and stock gearing then it will be pretty slow anyway.
Driving in water up to the bumper is as far as you can go safely without a snorkel. There is an air intake alongside the headlight.

2000 Vitara 1.6, 2" lift, 3" body lift, winch, snorkel, safari rack, 33" MTs, rear discs, steel front axle, 5:83s
SJ413K Pick Up, 1.6 conversion.

and is it an automatic?
if so you could have taken in some water into the trans causeing it not too shift correctly
