Help with tires size?

I have a set of new 235/75/15 bfg knock offs. I have a 2001 Grand Vitara stock with 16" pretty chrome wheels and bald stock tires. I have a stock pile of stock samurai 15" 5 on 5.5" rims. What's the chances I can make this combo work with maybe wheelspacer? This vehicle is used mainly for street.

well with a 75mm side wall rating (3" roughly) and about 2" to 3" of tread on a 15 inch rim puts you at about 21" inches of height. the width of 235 ( about 9 and a quater inches) puts you deep in the well. those new ties will fit on old sami rims no problem. as long as the vitara tires are roughly similar in sidewall height and tread width you should have no problem. look at the offset of the 16" rims and the 15"er's you have lying around. the look at the tire size on the vitara. if there about 235/70 or 65r16 yo should be good.

Jim,
You need to check clearnces on the brakes. The rims have the same bolt pattern but the gv has a larger diameter rotor.

Fugging trying to find rims that fit the GV is very difficult. 16x7JJ is the rim code.

15"s don't fit, but maybe with a spacer. I remember that Spidey spacers didn't fit, due to a machined lip on the flange and the spacer not fitting over. I think they changed the design, so they should work now.

29"s with no lift will be tight (read: rub).

I went and picked up a set of stock steelies from the dealer (take offs). I think I paid $100 for all 5. And stayed 16"s. That don't help you, though.
